Wednesday, February 24th, 2010

5 friends come together to start a new lease of life by opening up their own tattoo shop in Miami Beach, Florida. Ami James and Chris Nunez plan to start a tattoo shop at a place called LoveHate lounge co-owned by them. So, they come along together with some of their old and skilled tattoo artist friends, Chris Garver, Darren Brass and Yoji Harada, to open up a parlor- Miami Ink.

Miami Ink is a show aired on TLC which portrays the happenings at this shop. It’s a great TV series that shows many interesting people walking in to get their tattoos done and the show has also succeeded in capturing the feelings of the customers and the process of the artist in a great way. Season 1 started with a grand opening party in the first episode where the shop is set up and the first customer gets a tattoo of the Hawaiian Islands. Slowly as the episodes go by, it becomes prominent that business picks up and their friend Yoji gets married to his fiancée Bridgette. Season 1 ended with Ami injuring himself.

Season 2 begins with Ami buying his dream car and later Yoji getting the pressure as Ami threatens to release him from apprenticeship, if he doesn’t improve his drawing skills. After several interesting episodes where Kat Von D returns and helps out while Ami is out, the season ended with Darren inking a musician while Ami gives a tattoo to a girl helping in memorializing her father. In season 3 Kat leaves ‘Miami Ink’ and ventures out having an ambition to set up her own shop. Season 4 was all about Kat coming back on a surprise visit and once again tensions growing between Ami and Kat.

After completing 4 full seasons, 5th season was back with Ami and Nunez traveling to Las Vegas while well known tattoo artist Joe Capobianco fills the place of guest artist in the shop. Season 5 ended with Ami and Nunez being judges at a bikini contest and a new customer, Joni getting a tattoo of her own piece of art onto her back.

Planning Personal Finances – Become Rich! Live Your Dreams!

Monday, February 22nd, 2010

Most of us dream about being rich but few of us seriously think about how to achieve it. We imagine a win on the lottery or at Las Vegas. We fantasize about how we would spend our winnings. We do not take steps to improve our financial situation.

The lucky windfall can happen, but by its nature it is rare. Most of us will never experience such a chance event. It is better to develop a plan our finances just as a we would set out a business plan if we were setting up a business. Getting rich is not a matter of chance it is down to hard work and application.

If we have not inherited wealth we must plan how to increase our income. Even if we have inherited wealth it pays to plan how to maximise what we have. Many people who are fortunate enough to inherit money fritter it away in unplanned and wasteful spending.

If you are a young person starting out in life with no inherited wealth one of the best things you can do to improve your finances is to postpone marriage. Marriage is an expensive business. It means buying a house and everything that goes with it. It also means that you may be tied to one place and unable to move to find work. At the start of your career you must be prepared to be mobile in order to advance your career.

Some employers claim they like married employees but then expect them to work long unsocial hours. Long hours will put a strain on any marriage. If you do marry then postpone having a family. Children are a serious expense. There is health care, education and a whole host of expenses to consider.

Health is one of the most important factors in economic well being. Ill health is expensive. It means doctor’s bills and loss of earning potential. So do not take risks with your health. If you smoke then give up. If you are overweight then lose weight. Obesity and smoking are major health risks. Take daily exercise. Walking or running are cheap enough for any one to afford.

Above all, avoid getting into debt. This is one of the easiest temptations to fall into. Credit is so easy. Store cards, credit cards, personal loans, mortgages all drain your income. Buying a house may be a good investment in a period of rising house prices, but in a period of falling house prices it is not. When house prices are collapsing you may get a good deal to rent.

Never buy on impulse. Obviously you need to buy things. You must have a working wardrobe if you are to be taken seriously by an employer or a business contact. But plan what you buy. Make the things that you buy last. Buy for quality. Always check out the sales and stock clearance outlets. You need to aim for quality and value.

Saving is vital if you are going to improve your personal finances. You should get into the habit as early as possible. If you have savings you can avoid debt and have a cushion against unexpected expenses. Aim to have twice your monthly earnings in reserve.

Remember though that money is only a means to an end. Do not become so obsessed with money that you cannot be happy. There is always someone with more money than you.

The wedding rings  for the bride and groom will also be costly purchases as will the gifts for the bridesmaids and mums. Three Ways to Get Married at Valentines

Thursday, February 18th, 2010

Getting married on Valentine’s Day can be one of the most romantic decisions you ever make. Nothing is more exciting than choosing the day for lovers to get married. Of course, once the date has been chosen there is still plenty of work to be done. You will need to plan the wedding to make sure that the beauty of the ceremony lives up to the day you have chosen to take your relationship to the next step.

The following ideas range from traditional to unique and will be sure to please most couples choosing to wed on this special day.

Las Vegas/Elope
Planning a wedding can be extremely stressful. For this reason, there will be some people who would rather be whisked away to another location, be it Las Vegas, or a tropical destination, where they can get married on their own. If you do this you can begin your Honeymoon immediately and once you return home you can have a reception for your friends and family. If you are hoping to have a private ceremony this is a good way to do it. Additionally, if you are hoping to create some wild wedding memories, there is no better place to go than to Las Vegas.

Of course, you should be respectful to family if this is the option you are going to take. A reception, either before or after the wedding, should definitely be held. You might want to consider allowing some close family and friends to come along on your trip. Send out your reception invites before you leave and let everyone in on your decision. This ensures that there are no hurt feelings when you head off to begin a new phase in your life. Chances are most of your family and friends will be happy for you and they will be thrilled that you let them in on your little secret.

Renaissance/Period
Nearly every person identifies with a particular period in history. Whether you prefer the long flowing gowns and Victorian feel of the Renaissance or the simplicity of the Ancient periods is up to you. Of course, you may feel more comfortable with the roaring 20’s, the disco age of the 70’s, or the Woodstock era.

Once you’ve chosen a period that speaks to you the rest will be as simple as planning a traditional wedding. Luckily, you can find specialty wedding shops that can create dresses from nearly any time period in history. Additionally, if you have a picture of a dress you like many shops can duplicate or create a similar style in a fashion all your own.

With a little homework you can fill the area with flowers and colors reminiscent of the time period you have picked. You can also pick out foods and other wedding necessities to further enhance the feel of the time period you have chosen for your special day.

Nature
If you are opting to have a wedding that is simple in nature and focuses on the beauty that is all around you, then you might want to consider having an outdoor wedding. A few good options for this would be a wedding in the clearing of a wooded area, at the beach, or at the mountains. All of these possibilities or others would be beautiful. In most locations like this you can set up chairs and a wedding area for the gathering of your guests. Later your might choose to join together in a building or have your reception set up under tents where you can enjoy the safety allowances the tent provides but still be able to enjoy the natural setting around you.

There are many other great wedding options. There have been people married in submarines or in planes. People have gotten married as they were skydiving or on mountain tops. For the best wedding you can have you should find the one thing you love doing with your partner the most and attempt to get married in that setting. In the end, there will be no finer way to get married then by doing what you love when you say, I do.

Getting Un-hitched In Las Vegas

Sunday, February 14th, 2010

Getting a divorce in Nevada is a lot more work than getting married. Like most states, Nevada has some residency and other standards you have to meet before a divorce will be granted.

While getting married takes little more than a few minutes and a few dollars, getting a divorce takes a bit more.

It’s hard to say how many of the annual quickie Las Vegas marriages end in divorce, since many people who get married in Las Vegas come from other states. If divorce is the end result of the marriage, it would be hard to track since it would fall to the bride and groom’s state to quantify, and is their statistical burden. But, it is known that Nevada has a slightly higher divorce rate than the national average, at 14 percent, according to the 2000 Census. The national divorce rate, on the other hand, is about 10 percent.

So how do you go about getting a divorce in Nevada? There are three criterions for a divorce being granted in Nevada. You need only meet one of them. They are:

- That the husband and wife have been living separate for a year or more
- That the husband or wife has suffered from insanity for at least 2 years
- That there are irreconcilable differences

In Nevada, it’s not necessary to prove or make allegations of adultery, abuse, mental cruelty, etc., in order to be granted a divorce.

If you want to acquire a Nevada state dissolution of your marriage, the state requires you be a resident for at least 6 weeks prior to filing for divorce.

In Nevada, the court will divide common property equally, but in rare instances might divide the community property unequally, though this is quite unusual. If the husband and wife provide a written agreement about how they want to divide the property, the court will adhere to those requests.

The court will also decide, when handing a Nevada dissolution of marriage case, whether or not there will be any support granted for either the husband or wife, and whether or not child support will be granted.

If you were married in Nevada and want an annulment, you can get an annulment of your marriage regardless of where you live. To get an annulment, one of the following conditions must be met:

- Either the bride or groom was intoxicated enough at the wedding that they wouldn’t have been legitimately able to give their consent to getting married.
- After the marriage you find out that your spouse was insane and you were not aware of this prior to getting married.
- Both the bride and groom want to void the marriage and they have not lived together since the marriage.
- The bride and groom are blood relatives.
- Either the bride or groom was under the age of 18 at the time of the marriage and did not obtain parental consent to be married.
-The bride or groom was married to someone else (and not legally divorced) at the time of the marriage.

Getting Married Without A Hitch In Las Vegas

Wednesday, February 10th, 2010

As the Beatles said, “All you need is love, love, Love is all you need” Immortalizing the famous words of this song, love is really all you need to get married in Las Vegas.

It’s no surprise then, that Las Vegas is considered the wedding capital of the world, with over 122,000 marriage licenses being issued every year! They call it “Getting married without a hitch- Las Vegas style”.

Getting married is an experience in itself, but getting married in Las Vegas, takes the whole experience into another dimension. The official government agency that issues marriage licenses in Las Vegas, the Clark County Marriage License Bureau, is open everyday, including holidays, from 8 a.m. to midnight. How’s that for service! It’s no wonder they manage to issue so many licenses a year.

Forget boring “Wedding on the Beach” and other mundane wedding themes. In Las Vegas nobody would raise an eyebrow if you exchanged vows dressed as Star Trek characters or in Medieval costumes. Even the chapels get into the theme act in Las Vegas. Not only do they help you with your wedding vows and religious ceremonies, but they will also suggest a variety of ceremony themes and also help you choose your costumes and organize the décor. Most chapels even have costumes that you can rent. Professional, experienced staff is on hand to help you with the most simple to the most outré requests. Wedding chapels also offer bridal couples a variety of custom-designed packages to suit every budget and every style.

Plenty of costume shops and florists dot the area as well as shops that sell or rent tuxedos, gowns and any other accessory you can think of. Don’t forget the rings! It’s probably a better idea to pass on the idea of hiring wedding rings and buy them instead. You’d definitely want something more than photographs to commemorate this unforgettable experience.

For those looking to beat the record of “Quickest Wedding Ceremony”, Las Vegas even offers you a choice of drive-thru weddings. A word of caution here – don’t stop for the fries if you are aiming for the record.

So if you are looking for a unique one-of-a-kind wedding, make plans to go to Las Vegas, where all it takes is love, valid identification and $55 to get married.
